useful books and publications

These books and publications are a good starting point and an ideal companion to our Creative Producers Workshop

Julius Green used to produce for Bill Kenwright Ltd and was a visiting lecturer on the U.K's first Creative Producing M.A. course at Birkbeck College, University of London, which Nick Hennegan successfully attended.

This book deals with the West End, but many of the disciplines are the same for other levels of production.

James Seabright is an independent producer who deals with a more general level of producing.

More of a memoir than a how-to book, Nick Hennegan writes with humour and candour about the trials and tribulations of running a small-scale theatre company. (NOTE: It contains scenes some may find upsetting.)

Tom Hodgkinson is a journalist, who also runs The Idler magazine.  Not theatre specific, but we thought it might be a useful fillip and good for morale, if nothing else!
